June Income Report

It’s that time of the month again! It feels like just yesterday I was writing my monthly income report for June 2020. But here we are, six months later and it’s time to share how much money I made in June 2021.

This is an article about my experience as a content creator and how I’m making money on the internet. In this post, you’ll learn what kind of content creators there are, some tips for success, and finally an update on how much money I’ve been able to make since starting out in March 2021.

As I mentioned last time, I will update this report each month. It’s important to keep track of things, to stay on top of your finances and know how much you are making. You will find the previous recap at the end of this article.

Before we go any further, I have a question for you. Are you a content creator?

Feel free to let me know in the comment section below.

But if you are, then you can probably relate to some of the struggles I’ve gone through and maybe learn a few things about what it takes to make it online. On the other hand, if you aren’t a content creator, then hopefully this post will give you insight into what kind of content is out there and how people are making money online.

Let’s get started.

Content Creators

For the purpose of this article, I’m going to label all people who create online content as “content creators”. It’s a bit of a simplified term, but it’s probably a good one, so we can all learn from each other.

These may or may not be people you recognize or agree with on other issues. But when it comes to making money online, they’re probably some of the most influential people you’ll ever come across.

Some of the most notable people in the “content creator” game are: David Kadavy, Pat Flynn, Ramit Sethi, James Altucher, John Chow, Jenna Kutcher.

I’m not going to try and list everybody out there making money online. No way is that even possible. There have been A LOT of people who have made their mark on the internet and continue to make it bigger and better every day. There are just too many of them.

We’re going to focus on the major names, the ones who have made a big impact on our lives.

Where can you find content creators? Lots of places. From Twitter and Instagram to podcasts and blogs, there are some amazing content creators of all sorts out there.

I highly encourage you to explore these people and their work before diving into this article further. Be sure to take advantage of YouTube’s “related videos” as well. You can usually find some amazing free content on these channels as well.

You should probably also check out their websites. Many of them have entire sections dedicated to how they make money online and what they’re doing to create it. Learn how to build your audience, promote your products, and more.

What Kinds of Content Creators Are Out There?

I’ve written in a previous post that there are quite a few different types of online content creators. The most common type is probably the one you’re thinking of right now, the blogger. But there’s also everything from Instagrammers to Podcasters, Tweeters to YouTubers. And as we’re all finding out, TikTok is taking over the world right now.

There are even more types of online content creators than these, but not all of them are in the business of making money. Some bloggers like to share their stories and write about their experiences, just because they want to share them with others.

Blogs

Let’s start with the most common type of online content creators out there, bloggers. As they say, “the pen is mightier than the sword”, and that’s never been more apparent than in today’s online world. The internet was made for sharing information. And it sure does a good job at it.

As a blogger, you are sharing your thoughts and ideas with whoever is willing to read them. You’re creating content that people want to know about and share with others.

But that doesn’t mean you need a blog to make money online. What it does mean, however, is that you need to earn your income in order for your content to be shared on the internet.

What kinds of content do bloggers make?

Here are a few of the most common types of content that bloggers write about online:

Blogs about beauty, fashion, DIY, food, and more. Blogs about personal experiences. Blogs about politics (conservative or liberal), lifestyle tips and more. Personal finance and money advice. Blogs about social issues and current events. Recipes. DIY projects and how-to guides for online success such as blogging or social media marketing.

Blogging is a very popular form of content creation. And the people who do it have found a great way to make money online in the form of advertising.

But there’s more to blogging than just writing about what you’re passionate about and trying to get a few bucks from Google AdSense. Finding your niche, building an audience, marketing, and writing better content are all part of the game too.

A blog is basically your website that you can easily update frequently with new content. In fact, a lot of blogs are just a website that is made to look like a blog. But the same rules apply.

Courses

Are you ready for some course action? Me too. Let’s do this.

Here’s the deal, many bloggers also have courses that they sell in order to create their income online. A course is basically a type of “training” where you learn how to do something by paying the person who is teaching you what they know via a set number of payments.

For example, a course on online marketing might include class materials, videos, and other material that you can use to learn about the subject at hand. A course on making money blogging might teach you how to start a blog from scratch, market it, and attract your audience.

Conclusion

If you’re looking to make money online, you will eventually end up wanting to create your own blog. But before you get started, take a look at some of the content that’s out there and see if there is something you can relate to better than other things.

There are plenty of different types of blogs out there, but they all focus on a similar theme — some part of your life that is very close to your heart. Pick one of these topics and run with it. It will make your life a lot easier in the long run.
