I’m sure you’ve been wanting to know how to build a respectable following on Twitter, but maybe you’re not sure where to start. In order to help you with that problem, today we’re going over all the steps required for building those following those numbers up!
- Quality tweets. You need interesting content that people are going to want to read. You need to make them laugh, cry or gasp at your creations. You also want to make your tweets personal, so that people want to follow you and actually get the enjoyment out of following you. So with those two things in mind, let’s get started with building up that following on Twitter!
- Interact with each person that follows or retweets you; this will help make your account be much more personal and give people a better idea of who you are and what you’re up to. The second way is by following other users with the same interests as you.
- Make sure to keep adding and retweeting from those that have similar interests as you, so that more people will follow you and start to see the growth in your numbers. Once those following numbers start growing, it’s time to try your hand at reaching out to other users with similar interests; and when you do this, don’t be afraid of spamming them. If you’re trying to become a social media star, you need to be willing to spam others if it results in more followers!
- Look for those that tweet about the same topics your ideal user does. Reach out to them via Twitter or through email, thank them for their help and share some of their content; this way they’ll follow you back, and once they follow you back, share some of their tweets as well. This is only to be done in moderation, though; don’t spam, and if you do start to feel sick from doing all this, stop for a moment then resume building your audience.
Keep at it! Add as many people as you can to your following every day. Eventually, you’ll have hundreds or thousands of followers on Twitter, depending on how well you’re doing! Once your numbers start building up, it’s time to get creative. Add a few people you don’t know to your following, and then see if they follow you back. If they do, then make sure to follow them back as well; this will help bring some of the attention that has been given to your account to those that are following you.
